Twitter Downtime – What Did You Do?

Miscellaneous

I’m curious: how did you guys spend your time during the Twitter and Facebook outage this morning? Were you more or less productive? Please leave a comment and share your experiences!

Did you:

  • Turn to other social networks (such as FriendFeed or LinkedIn)?
  • Connect with people in other ways (phone calls, Skype, or even face-to-face conversation)?
  • Work on building your web presence in other ways (such as by blogging)
  • Turn the computer off and go outside?
  • Refresh the Twitter homepage over and over?
  • Not even notice the downtime?

If you found this post helpful, please take a moment to share it. Thanks so much!

  1. Oddly enough, no Twitter and Facebook makes me even less productive. Weird but true. It's because instead of getting news updates and keeping an eye on the competition in one easy window, I have to actually visit different news sites to see what they're doing and what we're missing, which uses up a lot of my time.

I'm still not that big into Twitter, though, and trying to not use Facebook at work, so it was just a minor inconvenience. Definitely provided some humor though laughing at all the co-workers twitching from withdrawal.

  2. I took the rage on my keyboard and now it's all in pieces. jk im not much of a twitter fan initially. So it wont affect me much if i didn't publish my new post at possibly the worst timing ever.I was trying to tweet my own post =) There's no problem with facebook btw.

On a side note, i seriously love you blog design. Simple yet elegant.

  3. Thanks for the compliment! I actually didn't have any problems with Facebook this morning either, but a lot of sources (including Mashable) were reporting slow or intermittent service, so I figured I just got lucky :)
